|
Abstract

|
Accurate preoperative staging is important in planning of operative procedure of renal cell carcinoma. In this study, we evaluated the accuracy rates of MR imaging and CT in staging renal cell carcinoma. We reviewed retrospectively the results of
MRI
and CT staging in 25 patients with proven renal cell carcinoma.
The overall accuracy rates for tumor staging were 81% for CT and 94% for MR imaging. MR imaging is superior to CT in staging renal cell carcinoma.
Our results suggest that MR imaging is better modality than CT in preoperative staging of renal cell carcinoma.
